My three year old daughter is learning to sound out letters and associate them with written words. I heard her from the kitchen practicing the hard "C" sound.
"Hey, Mommy!" She calls to me, thrilled with her discoveries in linguistics. "I know something that starts with Q! Cucumber!"
This blog is dedicated to exhausted and overwhelmed mothers struggling with the pressures of family and home.Encouraging stories share how seeking a close relationship with God brings peace amidst the daily chaos of motherhood.
Cathy Pringle is the mother of three daughters: ages 10, 8, and 4. She has been happily married for 16 years to Will, her High School sweetheart. She is a stay at home mom who cuts the crusts off peanut butter sandwiches, walks the kids to the bus stop in her pajamas, and drives a crumb-encrusted minivan. As a classically trained opera singer with a Masters Degree in Vocal Performance, Cathy gave up arias and curtain calls in exchange for standing ovations for the performance of noble works like “The Alphabet Song” and “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.” God has taught her many lessons through the joys of everyday life and the privilege of raising children. Cathy has sung in a stadium with 7,000 people, but has yet to conquer the monumental task of folding all the laundry. In the pursuit of having the perfect family and perfect home, she discovered it was impossible. In her discouragement she drew closer to God, who taught her with humor and humility that Dust Keeps (Kids Don’t).
